I was driving to YMCA for dropping my daughter for a swimming class.On the way we saw a fat cat trying to cross the road
"Oh ohoo" I told to my little one, "Did you see the cat trying to cross the road?"
"Where is?" she asked
By the time, the cat crossed half way and returned. She was little disappointed of not seeing that. We went to the swimming class.While coming back I saw the cat lying on the road side, hit by some car. It was badly hit and half of the organs came out from the body.
I could not stop saying "Ohh Nooo !"
"What .. What happened" she asked eagerly.
"Nothing... " I tried not to tell her, thinking that it may make her sad, especially because she is softhearted in nature. But she kept pestering me and I had to tell her.
"The cat we saw while going, is hit by some car and was killed."
There was pin drop silence for some time, and she asked
"Dad, Are dogs carnivores?"
"What !" I exclaimed, why is she asking this question,
"Are dogs carnivores?" she repeated.
"Yea" I replied.
"Okey, then no problem, some dogs can eat the cat."
"Seriously", I wondered.
She used to read books on food chain and talks a lot about Predators and Preys. She applied her science knowledge here and no other emotions. My wife used to say "People with more scientific knowledge is terribly lacking emotions"
How can I see this? "With an emotional background or scientifically?"....
